Tivo Series 2 Upgrade

It seems Tivo Series 2 240 series and the dual tuner (both standalones) have the exact same software (i could be wrong). Can i pull a drive from the 240 and put it into the dual turner and have everything working?

or

do i gotta transfer the DT software onto the new drive and override everything on the 240 drive....


any way to keep thumbs froma 240 unit to a DT unit

They don't have the same software. The UI is the same, but some of the underlying code is version specific.

However, the current version can be interchanged between 140 and 240 units with no problem.
