I'm still playing catch up on this and was wondering if there is a guide anywhere I can work through on how to set this up.

This is what I have :

TiVo, networked with 2.5.5a software (I have a Tosh telly)
Sony D800U freeview box
Grundig sky digibox (on freesat)

Currently the freeview box is connected to the VCR input and is visible through the VCR button on the remote but not controlled by TiVo. The wife likes E4 and would like to record from it........

If I connect the Sky box through the AUX SCART and the Sony box via RF can TiVo control both boxes and record from both sources?

I know I will need to re-run guided setup but do I need to change any settings on the Sony freeview box to achieve this?

I know this has been discussed before but I've read other threads and am still confused...

Cheers for the help

Hi Jimus,

The only* dual source that UK Tivos support is:

1. Sky via AUX SCART socket
2. Freeview via RF

This relies on the freeview box being able to output it's signal via RF and not just passthrough of analogue signals (the freeview box must have an RF modulator).

If the freeview box only outputs through SCART then there are modulators you can buy as an add-on, see http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=4231791&&#post4231791 for more details.

A quick glance at the specs for a Sony D800U tells me you will need to buy a modulator.

You should not need to change any settings on the Freeview box to do this setup.

(* apart from Sky + Sky Radio via RF, any others?)

Thanks for the thorough reply, I think I'll wait until I'm feeling braver, my TV cabinet is stuffed with gizmos already!

I was secretly hoping it would be a case of pushing a few buttons!

Cheers
