Yes, see the sticky WeaKnees Interactive Online TiVo Upgrade Instructions (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/printthread.php?t=141538&p=1497136) follow the link in the first message.

It is an extra keycode sent from the Microsoft Wireless Keyboard. In Linux to get rid of it enter the command setkeycodes e059 126 mapping the key to a blank command

edit: I just looked at the WeaKnees CD and it does not have the setkeycodes command. If you can use a different keyboard.

And Un-plug the mouse.

weakness said my stock HD is B and my new HD is A, and my cd drive is C
so at the prompt i entered this command:

mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdY | mfsrestore -s 127 -r 4 -xzpi - /dev/hdX

is that correct? it also said to make sure my HD isnt locked, i couldnt see why my stock HD would be locked though

please help

thanks.

yea that's correct

Y in that line should be your 40GB drive,
X= the 250GB

dont worry about ypur drive being locked.

you're supposed to replace it with where the drives actually are:

Primary Master hda
Primary Slave hdb
Secondary Master hdc
Secondary Slave hdd

so the stock 40G should be hdA and the 250G should be hdC??
or your saying instead of using XYZ i should use ABC?

i tried again using AB

mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdB | mfsrestore -s 127 -r 4 -xzpi - /dev/hdA

B is the stock 40G and A is the 250G
i got the 250's jumper set as master and the 40's set as slave
both on the primary cable.

is this all correct? probably not :o

Remove the "-r 4", it's not needed for a 40 to 250 Gb upgrade.
Try: mfsbackup -Tao - /dev/hdb | mfsrestore -s 127 -xzpi - /dev/hda
