Ok, this just bugs the heck out of me... I buy a new TiVo and I have to spend the next four weeks teaching my new TiVo what I like and transferring season passes. I know I don’t have to do it often, but what a pain for a long time user.

Granted, I use the TiVo suggestions while some people don’t. I have some friends that don’t use suggestions but use the thumbs up and down to mark shows they have watched etc. Either way, it takes time and effort to create this list.

In addition to that, take Season Passes, I can’t even create some of them when I replace a unit because the show is not on at the time. (Burns me up later when I see something to remind me its back on and I have missed one or more episodes.)

If I am adding a new TiVo to my home or replacing an outdated unit, I would just like the ability to ‘teach my new TiVo’ using one of my others.

Although I don't think you can transfer your current settings to a new TiVo, there is a quick way you can overcome the Season Pass issue:

1) If you know the name of the show you had a Season Pass before, created a Wish List for that show and select the "Auto Record" option for that show.
- That way you have the first one already in your "Now Playing" list and you will then know that show's season is back on. From there create a Season Pass for your show.
I do agree with you, that they should have a simple way to transfer your settings onto your new TiVo DVR. They have an extra USB slot on all of the DVRs....I don't know why they can't use that to "link" two TiVo's together for transfering data. You can do that with normal computers. Seems like a waste of space if that extra USB slot is never going to be used for a future software update.
