Hi All
Just curious what the difference is between the series 1 box and series 2? from what I've read it seems its the faster CPU & Tivo-To-Go? Any others? I ask because I noticed a few boxes on ebay wLiftime subscriptions but the Series 2 boxes were much more expensive than series 1. Thanks.

Well, the whole network thing for us... We don't have a phone lines near our tivos, were using wireless jacks, which stopped working when we installed our alarm system. To keep systems up to date, we had to run 100 ft cord thru the house to the various wall jacks and force updates. With Series 2, you just hook up to your network. Once you do that, you can access your music and photos, and transfer recordings from one room to another, set up recordings on line... There's a ton of stuff we do with ours using network capability.

Series 1, you lose all networking related features (TTG, sharing video between multiple Tivos, music/photo sharing, remote scheduling, etc.), plus they run old software version missing a couple good things:
- grouping of series/wishlists into folders (can only sort on series 1 via an easter egg)
- overlap protection, clipping shows automatically rather than cancelling them entirely if overlapping by a few minutes
What you think those features (plus additional features Tivo may add to series 2 in the future, series 1 is dead platform) are worth is up to you ...
Plus the original drives are bigger on series 2 ...
