Tivo doesn't respond

My TCD540040 is having remote problems. It's like it's too busy to process the remote signal. If I try to use the remote sometimes everything is fine, other times I'll have to hit the button multiple times before the yellow light will blink. I'm using an IR blaster so I don't think it's the IR signal.

Any thoughts?
