Newbie here and I hope this is an easy question. I wasnt quite sure how to search the forums for this particular question.
I have two DIsh VIP211 HD receivers. I am going to take advantage of Tivo's Refurbished Series 2 SA units and get two of them. The Dish's guide is terrible. Program information is poor, it just doesnt provide a very visually appealing interface. I have checked the preferences of the Dish receivers and do not see any way to turn off the OSD. I cant even find anywhere to shorten how long it remains on the screen.
So am I correct in assuming that when I am using the Series 2 Tivo to watch live or recorded programs (Non HD of course), the TIVO guide is going to overlay right on top of the Dish REceiver's on screen guide, right? I am wondering if it will even be legible as the DISH guide and menus consume the entire screen! Is this just part of the hassle with not using a DirecTV Tivo? (Where I live the DIsh PVR is not available to us. Although I could install a DirectTV system if I wanted to. Im just trying to get through this as inexpensively as possible)
Thanks for any comments!
Doug
