Tivo Remote Problem

#1 My Tivo Remote does not work with my tv for some reason. Like i cant power on or do volume. My tv is a panasonic, not sure which model

#2 When I turn on my tv then pick up my tivo remote and hold down the tivo button, the light on top just blinks and the tivo doesnt do anything. Then if i hit the controller on something a few times and press again, it will work. I know it isnt the remote because i ordered a new one from customer support and it still doesnt work. Anyone ever heard anything like this?

the remoe needs to programmed for your TV brand, before it will control it. If none of the panasonic codes work, is this a TV/vcr combo?

Are you sure fresh AA batteries are inserted correctly and firmly installed? It sounds like the batteries top (+) and bottom (-) aren't making solid electrical contact with the contacts on the remote. Otherwise, I'd think two remotes not working and then working after banging them against something is more than coincidence.


If you are trying to program the remote to control your TV, point the TiVo remote away from the device when pushing the buttons together. Then enter the codes and try to power on the device. Also check to verify that other device remotes aren't turned on by accident and are interfering with the TiVo remote.
