They are still on MPEG2 (I get CBS and FOX in Detroit). I don't know for sure that they are on MPEG4.

from NY?Um, yeah. That's what you asked about, isn't it?
As a leftover from pre- HD LiL network agreements, I can receive the NY CBS and FOX HD channels on my HD TiVo (channels 80 and 88), so I know they are still MPEG2. From this fact, I deduce that the other NYC stations are still MPEG2 also.
Since I don't live in NY, or know anybody there with DirecTV HD, I don't know whether or not they are also being delivered via the MPEG4 route.

Um, yeah. That's what you asked about, isn't it? :confused:To be fair to the the OP, I think your first replyThey are still on MPEG2 (I get CBS and FOX in Detroit). may be open to interpretation for many people. You seem to be confirming the NY locals are still MPEG2, but: are you watching Detroit's feed of CBS and FOX or NY's? Hence the OP asked "In NY?" You're second post clarified the answer. :)

I'm in the NY market. CBS, NBC, ABC and FOX are still available in MPEG-2. But for how long?
