I need some help.

When I scheduled my move to my new house, which already has dual RG6 to each room, I got DTV to agree to throwing in two HD Tivo boxes and I'm purchasing a third regular box. After reading this forum and the faq, I also asked them to install an OTA so I could record channels in Chicago, even though they are alreading broadcasting locals through their new dish. I think I just realized that to use the antenna would require three lines ran to each of the 9 rooms. If that's correct, let me know and I can cancel the antenna part of the install.

Thanks!

All you need are some diplexors and you can inject the OTA signal into the existing lines. Your installer should be able to provide those for you. The way this works is that you run the OTA antenna into a diplexor (or a multiswitch with an OTA input) and then that signal is pggybacked on the sat cable. On the end where the HD tivo is, you put a diplexor which splits the OTA signal back out, and then plug that into the OTA input.

I use this method in my house to get OTA signals on my HD tivo with only two lines run to it.

Thanks for the help, that makes me feel better. Do I need to ensure that the installer has the equipment before they make the run, or is this common equipment if I need it for 3 rooms.

Should be common equipment. All installers should carry the equipment as we run into this alot.
