Hello,
This may sound like a stupid question but can I connect my IR repeater (Xantech type) via hard wire (1/8 mini cable) to the IR input on the back of the HR10-250 and control the unit that way instead of using an emitter?
btw: imagine searching this board for the words 'ir remote cable' - I actually read most of them
Thanks,
TD

Nope, that IR port in the Tivo is actually an output.

Any idea how to program a harmony 680 and 880 to be assigned to a single DTivo so that when the remote is used in proximity of other DTivos it will only operate the one it is assigned to?
I have the HR10-250 and the DSR704 in the same rack.
I can find how to assign a regualar tivo "peanut" remote but I can't seem to get the right search string to find how to do it with the Harmony. I'm sure it has been answered a thousand times so forgive me for asking again. :o

I'm not sure why you hijacked this thread to ask about the harmony remote.
When you are setting up a TiVo device on the harmony remote website it will have you aim your current peanut remote at the back of the harmony and hit certain keys. The harmony will figure out what remote address you have assigned to the peanut.

Of course, you will have had to setup different remote addresses before doing this. :)

I assumed that since I started this thread and was looking for help with the IR interface of my Tivo an additional question about the remote was completely in order.
Thanks for your answer, but if it bothered you that much you could have just passed it by.
