Bash Password

I am trying to set the time on my Tivo Series 2 by accessing the bash prompt. It is asking for the password, other sources used "factory" this does not work, any other suggestions........Thanks

If it's asking for a password, it's not a bash prompt...are you accessing it via serial cable? If so you're probably pressing Enter too soon.
