Help me philips dsr 708

My friend gave me this tivo model philips dsr708. i can't get the tivo to work without a phone line and i do not have a phone line available in the room. I currently have packet8 voip. I am just wasting my time or is there an adapter, script or accessory. I need to make this work? Please help i have been looking thru all the post and can't find any info on my model to network this to my broadband connection.

If the unit is legitimately subscribed (i.e., the access card is paid for), then you can hack it and run fakecall to bypass the initial call. There's a script (zipper) that will do all the work for you, so many folks opt for that.
