Since I got my 62" Mits HD TV and HD Tivo, my electric bill has gone up a huge amount. I'm just wondering if others have noticed a large increase in their bills?

I would think it is the TV much more than the Tivo. Between everything in my home theater, my bill is relatively large

Does that really make the electric bill jump that much? Surely the TV doesn't use as much juice as the fridge or the air-conditioner.

Around here, the per KWH charge goes up in the summer at the same time usage goes up (I live in Texas where temps approach 100F this time of year).

Install compact florescent bulbs in every light fixture in the house to offset the increased electric bill due to the TV.

Here's a thread on TiVo power consumption (the thread is about SD TiVos, but the numbers should be very close): http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?t=286409

My HDTivo (HR10-250) consumes 37 watts when running. I figured that out to be around a buck a month.
