I have been a proud owner of my SD-H400 for almost 2 years. I recently started noticing some problems with it. I was wondering if anyone has had these problems and if they are fixable. I have a warrenty with Bestbuy and will be taking it in to see if they can fix it. The problems that I am having are as follows.

1. When playing a DVD the video starts jumping up and down, almost like its trying to track the video (like a VCR). I tried several DVD's and have noticed it always happens with new DVD's and DVD-R only sometimes. It always happens when the movie starts and just recently started during the movie.

2. The audio when I'm watching something on my now playing list goes up and down when playing, but not when I'm watching live TV.

3. I hit the Tivo button or the back button and it takes several seconds (maybe 4-5) to even get the bing and then takes awhile to change.

4. When I first power up Tivo in the morning it reboots. This has been happening alot lately and I first thought it was because I was transferring to my PC, but it even happens even when I don't transfer.

5. I was watching live TV and something was going to record. It gave me the message if it was ok to change the channel and I said yes. The channel never changed, but it was still recording what it needed to record. I got to watch the program for 30min and then it changed to the channel it was recording. This is not a bad thing :) , but I did not see that this was added on any update.

6. I was not able to put the system on standby mode. It would take several trys before it actually went to standby mode.

7. Theres other problems that I've been noticing, but can't remember them right now. Thanks in advance for any responses.

Do a search for the SD-H400 in the forums. Many, including mine, have had the HD die at about the 2-year mark. Toshiba for a while was exchanging them for better units TX20 and 60's but I read here that they have stopped doing that. I would buy another 250-300GB HD and hopefully it's not too late to backup your current HD to the new one.
