I'm not a huge fan of this show, but my wife likes it, so we'll usually watch it during dinner. Usually, it's 45 minutes well spent.
This recent episode, though, left a bad taste in my mouth. Sure, it was kinda funny at times, but seeing Priority Homicide deal so lightly with someone's death--to the point of destroying evidence just to cover up for their own mistakes--makes me want Captain Taylor to investigate my murder, God forbid it ever happened.

Yeah, I think they were trying for a comedy episode, but tried to have it both ways. And given the nature of the crimes they investigate, I'm not entirely sure a comedy episode is appropriate anyway.

Hmmm, guess I had a different take on it. I loved this episode!
***SPOILERS***
I got a kick out of the opening credits vs. the garage door opening and closing. I took the whole thing as kind of tongue-in-cheek, assuming that at one time or another most detectives have those feelings (the "come on, they'll still be dead in an hour" feeling). Of course I hope they don't act on those feelings, but I can imagine them thinking that way.
I also appreciated how Johnson kept Det. Gabriel out of the loop, for his own good. He knew something was up, and even resorted to pushing a desk chair down the hall, trying to see what he could overhear.
Overall, I thought it was pretty clever. I wasn't sure if I'd like the show, as I'm not too much of a fan of Kyra Sedgwick, but I really look forward to it each week. Brenda Johnson is a bit neurotic for me, but she got me w/ the line, "If I *liked* being called a b!tch, I'd still be married!"

I wasn't offended by this episode. A commander has to look out for her troops, they in turn will take care of her. I loved the punishment she gave the two detectives.

The show would be allot better if they got rid of Kira. I never thought she was a good actor .

I loved this episode! Of course in real life, their butts would be out the door faster than Brenda can say "Yes, Momma. But I thought it was great how she was trying to protect them and still solve the case. It was just a fun episode.
