Hello all. This is probably a stupid question but I will ask it anyway. Will I lose the shows that I recorded before I hacked?

Ok, I actually have a second question. Does someone have a link to the approved adapters? I have a linksys USB200M and am wondering if it will work or not.

Thank you.

Have you hacked or are you preparing to hack?

Thank you.You will not lose shows, and your adapter will work - is it a version 1 or version 2 adapter? What kind of Tivo do you have?

I am preparing to hack.

Thanks. That was what I was thinking but wasn't sure and as there are shows on it that I don't want to lose before watching, I wanted to make sure.

Is there anyway to tell what version adapter I have from looking at? Considering I got it so long ago I guess version 1 but am not sure. Does it make a difference? I am only going to use it until I set up the wireless connection.

The tivo I have is a directivo SD-DVR120.

Thanks all.

See here (http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/showthread.php?p=3428320&highlight=usb200m#post3428320). If you have a version 2 adapter, you won't be able to use it until you run the enhancement script, and you cant run the enhancement script without already being connected, so you'll need an alternate way to connect (another adapter, serial cable). Why don't you just use the wireless adapter from the get-go? The Zipper will set it up without the need for a wired connection first.

I've made a script (made entirely using rbautch's code, from the enhancement script and the zipper) that updates your USB drivers (and usb.map to support USB200MV2 too) while your Tivo drive is still in your PC, so you don't have to buy another adapter.

I've had a user test it after he ran zipper.sh and it worked.

It only works with 6.2 dtivos, for now. I have to add some things to make it work with 3.1.5f.

PM me for the script.

You place the sh script on your Zipper Tools CD (or on a seperate CD with 2 extra files if you already burned your toolscd already) and run it after you run zipper.sh.

I didn't know that wireless was setup from the get-go. I thought I had to run the script first and then another one to get wireless going. Thanks for you informing me of this.
