Here lately my Directivo hangs up in the middle of a program. It won't advance or reverse, I have to unplug the machine and delete the program. This does not happen all the time, but I'm thinking I've got a bad section in my hard drive.
Anyone had this problem before?

as others have stated, if it's only ONE recording, keep that recording forever, and you'll have the problem "quarantined" on that program.

How old is the drive? I'd run Maxtor's, Seagate's or whoever's diagnostics on it first. It would be good idea to have the data relocated and the sector marked bad, if it's the case. At a deeper level, you could run SpinRite 6 on it and let the program do its thing. Short of all that, for about the same cost as SpinRite you could replace and upgrade the hard drive. At the least, make a backup image of the old drive before it gives up the ghost.
