I have a Hughes SD-DVR40. It's been up and running fine for over a year. Suddenly today all the season passes stopped recording things. I can delete the pass and recreate it and it still lists no upcoming episodes. The guide is working fine and I can see things that it should be recording in the future.

If I view the recording history in the to-do list, I get a huge list of things that won't be recorded. It lists the reason as "This program will not be recorded because someone in your household modified the Season Pass or auto-recording wishlist that originally requested it"

I can then go in and tell it to record manually, but it doesn't schedule the recordings by itself.

Help!!

Try restarting the Tivo

If the channel requested to change their call-letters, or any of a dozen small changes, the season passes may be confused.

If season pass was for "twenty four" which is now "24" season pass fails.

Channel was "23" and is now "fox 23" or "wogf", season pass fails.

just cancel and re-do them.

All my Season Passes for FX stopped working on my DirecTV R10 a while back,
either FX or DirecTV changed the name, I can't remember what it was or what it is now, but it was something simple like F.X. to FX or FX! to FX or fx to FX or something trivial like that, but enough to make the Season Pass lose what channel it was, channel # stayed the same.

I am having troubles recording some baseball games and I think it may be because of a name change. On the channel banner thing, it used to say RSN, but it has since changed to FSWI.. I tried creating a wishlist that has keywords of BREWERS RSN and get no upcoming programs.. I also tried creating a wishlist that has keywords of BREWERS FSWI and also get no new upcoming baseball games. Now I think I know why. Thanks for the explanation.

If you happen to know a way to fix it, please let me know.

This wish list should catch all the team's televised games, regardless if they're carried by an RSN, FOX, or a local channel. I recommend specifying First Run only, and padding the scheduled time by at least a half hour at the end.

I'm having the exact same problem. A week or so ago, all my Season Passes stopped recording. I did a few things to troubleshoot, but to no avail:

Deleted and re-added all of my Season Passes
I do use "First Run Only", but even shows like "Entourage" (which are currently in first-run) are still not recording
I looked in "Search by Titles" and I can only see a handful of shows, and there's no real rhyme or reason to which ones are there (for example, a search for "Entourage" or "Star Trek" shows no upcoming episodes)
When I look at any of my Season Passes, it shows "No upcoming episodes"
My EPG is fully and accurately populated with all future episodes
I can go into the EPG and manually select a program to record in the future and it will record

With that sequence exhausted, I decided to try all the different levels of resetting the box, also to no avail. Even after a full box reset, my TiVo exhibits the same behavior as before.

DirecTV customer support is not particularly useful, but I can't blame them. This seems to be a little bit of an odd and perplexing problem. I did make sure DVR service was activated and that all my programming service selections (basically, everything you can get) were all still active. Everything is fine on that front.

The only thing I can think of as the problem is that perhaps it's my box itself. I have an HR10-250 purchased from PTVUpgrade and hacked so that it doesn't have to make a daily call (I don't have a landline, nor do I want to have one).

Any ideas? Anyone else seeing the same thing?

Did you do a CDE?

I do use "First Run Only",

This might be part of the problem. I did the same thing and was wondering where all my shows were. Change it back and see what happens.

Also check what channels you have in your channels lists. Some may no longer be there.

Did you do a CDE?

What is CDE?

Also, even if the shows aren't recording because of "First Run Only", they would at least show up in the "View Upcoming Episodes" screen, wouldn't they? Right now, if I pick, say, "The West Wing", I see "No Upcoming Episodes" even though there are many upcoming episodes in the EPG.

CDE = Clear and Delete Everything. (A bit drastic, since, as the name states, it will delete everything. All your season passes, all your wishlists, all recorded programs, all thumbs and config data. Everything.)

True, if the programs aren't showing up in "View Upcoming Episodes" then it is some type of indexing problem. The guide data is there, but for whatever reason the TiVo isn't properly indexing it for use with Season Passes, View Upcoming Episodes, or Search by Name.
(Well, the other way this might happen is if the episodes are on some channel that, isn't in your Channels I Receive list, but is in the guilde because the guide is set to All Channels. But that seems unlikely.)

Yes, I did try CDE and apparently that worked. I came back home this afternoon and TiVo seems to be recording stuff, the Season Pass List shows upcoming shows, and the To Do List has stuff in it.

I knew that DirecTiVos required some amount of waiting period to download everything from the satellite, but figured it would have worked after 48 hours. I suppose 72 hours did the trick :-)

It appears this was in fact a problem with my box, and not DirecTV or another external factor.

Thanks all...
