Hi all, I have an interesting situation on my hands. I have an old series 2 (version 3.2) that I've had in storage for a couple of years. It has never been activated. What I want to do is update the software so I can use the TiVo Basic service for a few months until I activate it. After making a daily call I get a message that says "Failed to load series". I called Tivo on Monday and a very nice CSR lady told me it would be no problem to fix, unfortunately their 'system crashed' and I had to call back later. I called back today when I got home from work and the CSR told be I had to activate my tivo in order to receive the update regardless of what the CSR told me on Monday. Does anybody know if I can force the tivo to take the upgrade?
