7.2.2 = 15 More Hrs?

Haven't been here for a while, but recently noticed that the upgrade to 7.2.2 that brought with it the "Recently Deleted" folder seems to have also dramatically increased the capacity of my TiVo.

Here's the deal:

I have the stock Sony SVR-3000 which always was quoted as 24 hours in Best.

I ONLY record in Best, and today did a quick mental tally of the programs in Now Playing and there was 30.5 hours there!

PLUS in Recently Deleted there's another 9.5 hours, any of which could be recovered (but I assume not all of it).

40 hours of Best recordings on an 80GB drive? Cool. :confused: :D

The numbers quoted by Tivo are the worst case scenario. At Best Quality setting the actual resolution used depends of the input signal type.

Best: 480x480 (544x480 for DSS with S-Video in, 352x480 for cable in with RF Smoothing).

So assuming you don't have S-Video input from a Satelite box 30Hrs is about right.

I have S-video in from a digital cable box, but before the Recently Deleted folder became available, I routinely saw 24-27 hours.

In any event, I'm pleased that TiVo continues to get better as time goes by.
