I have seen it before but can't find it or am not using the right search words. I want to know what HD channels are on what Satallites. I can't find this list, anyone?

We cannot get the 119 sat. The channels we don't receive are ESPN2 HD, Discovery HD, and HDnet. Also the national ABC and FOX HD feeds are on the 119 I believe.

Why?
Because as of now I don't have signals on 119 and only mid 50's on one transponder on the 110. So I can't really test anything on my new HD TV until I get this issue fixed. So I was wondering if there was any HD on the 101 or 110 basically..and what

That sounds like a dish orientation problem.
You are picking up the wrong satellites on the wrong LNB's.

Tune to chs 490-494 to verify reception on each satellite/polarity combination.
Specifically, the channels on each sat can be found at:
http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa101.html
http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa110.html
http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa119.html
Then there are:
http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa95.html
http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa103.html
And for those with their locals on the 72.5 sat:
http://www.lyngsat.com/packages/directvusa72.html
You need to get your dish aligned to the proper sats. Otherwise the receiver can't decode the proper channels.

Yes I understand that my dish isn't aligned correctly or something else is causing this issue of not getting the 110 and 199. I cover that in another thread :-) I was just asking because I wanted to know if I could see any HD channels on my new HD TV via Directv in the meantime. From the looks of it I won't be seeing any HD programming until I get this dish aligned / fixed.
Thanks for everyone's posts!

The 101 satellite has the national feeds of CBS and NBC in HD. The 110 satellite has your preium channels in HD. The 119 has the remaining channels. I guess you already figured that out.

Which one has all the shopping channels on it? We could email N Korea that it is a US spy sat and they could test fire that missile of theirs.

That position would be the main one, the one that the others won't work without (has all the guide data and authorization data streaming off it) 101 west
Besides, they don't have sat-killer technology yet. It's one thing to launch something into sub-orbit, something entirely more difficult to launch something into orbit, and soemthing even more difficult to get it into the geostationary range
and even more difficult to hit a 100 meter area.

We just lost the 119 sat last week too. A hail storm busted a hole in the plastic cover on the LNB, which then proceeded to fill up with water and short out. Never seen or heard of that in all my years with DirecTV. I noticed the plastic was really brittle, so I guess it was a matter of time.

A broken cover on an LNB is sort of common. It is more common to get water into one of the connectors.

The only transponder I got anything higher than a zero on the 119 was 27. I got to the 50's. All other's were zero no matter what else I tried. I am hoping putting it on the roof (instead of the ground where it now might not be perfectly level on all planes) will allow me to see the 119 and 110 so I can finally see what HD is all about!

So, I found this thread and maybe it could shed some light on our problem.
Our reception has gotten a bit worse. On the 101 (a) satellite, I am getting only in the high 30's, usually a lock on 38-42 or so
But, that is really only on the EVEN transponders. On the ODD transponders, it might be 37 or so.
It DOES appear to be a lock though, and not an ON again OFF again situation.
On the other satellites, I get 95!
What led me to this was that I am getting jaggies in the recordings, and breakups. Looks like group pixlization and such, lost words, etc. Comes and goes though.
For example, on CNBC 355, I might watch a show and have the whole HOUR with this problem. Then, I might record a show on CNBC about an hour later, and BOOM NO PROBLEM!
Question is, WHAT is this? I would think if the dish orientation was bad, I wouldn't get 95 on the other satellites?
Anyone have any thoughts? Could this be a hard drive problem? Is something going on with the signal on the 101?

Sounds like it could be an LNB problem, a corroded cable. or a bad internal multiswitch.

What dish do you have? Phase III or oval with separate LNBs?
The first thing I'd try is tweaking the dish to see if you can get 101 strengths higher.
Oh yeah, check to see if a tree has grown and is blocking line of sight to 101, in your area 101 is lower in the sky than the others.

I have the three lnb dish, it was put in about a year ago.
It was on the low end THEN, it has simply gotten a bit worse.
Only on 101, and only odds. And only sometimes. I just don't get THAT, that cnbc can be fine one hour, and bad the next.
Is the stream stronger at some times, and not others? or, are the shows on 101, on differant EVEN and ODD transponders?

The programming on 101 use different TPs. DirecTV has the ability to transparently move a channel from one TP to another. With evens missing sometimes this can mean a cable problem. With a partially corroded connection, the 18V signal to the LNB that switches it to even TPs can be reduced and thereby not working correctly. Have you tried swapping the inputs to see what happens? Also, as I suggested, the dish line of sight may be blocked for 101.

I THINK that the dish line of sight, might be tight, it has only come on in the past few weeks, month, meaning tree growth, lean might be doing that. Still, surprised to get 95+ on the other sats.
I'll try the multiswitch, and cables, all cables were new they are under the house. i'll try switching, and see if the other tivo gets the same bad feed.

Also, make sure there is not a tree growing somewhere WSW of you. the 119 satellite is way over the Pacific Ocean, thus closer to the horizon. It is easier for obstacles closer to the ground to block that signal.
I had to move my dish twice due to trees.

In my case. my neighbor's tree grew enough to block my view of 119 although 101 and 110 were still strong. So, it can happen.
If the dish has moved, then all sats would have been affected.
