I have one of the dinosaur sony tivos. Everything worked fine until recently. It is an issue with updating the program guide via turbonet. It's been so long since I installed it I can't remember if there is anything special to do besides the ,#401 prefix or not, but all I get is "Failed. Service unavailable" when I try to do a setup call or daily call.....I know the network cable is good I have plugged my laptop into it and pulled an IP from the linksys gateway/router.
Anyway have any pointers for me?

Try running a new guided setup.

Thanks, tried that...couldn't connect it via router, trying phone line now....on the program call downloading.

Ok, here is the error, Dowloading: Falied. Call interrupted, but I know it's the only thing plugged into the phone line. Any other ideas?

Do a search in the Help Center and in the Archives. There have been earlier threads on the problem, but I've never seen it, so I can't recall what the fix was.
