I have a SD-DVR80 that seems to broken. I don't suspect the hard drive and would like to move the harddrive to my HDVR2.
Can anyone tell me if this will work?

May give you some on screen messages, I think I have read you can do a "Clear and Delete All" and you should be OK from there.

You will not be able to view any of the recordings (unless your SD-DVR80 had been superpatched/zippered).

Cheer,
I'd like to retain what I have recorded, but the SD-DVR80 has never been "hacked". Can I hack it now before putting it into the HDVR2? If so, can you give me some leads as where to get instruction to do this..
Thanks in advance.

Depends. You mention that it is "broken." It needs to be up and running.
Start with the Zipper. After that, go to the other forum as the rest cannot be discussed here.
