Not sure if animation is the right word but this is what I am referring to:
A friend bought a series 2 stand alone (540 model) a few months back afer falling in love with TiVo after seeing mine. While at his house yesterday I noticed that the TiVo screen changes (say, from one of the options in a menu back to the main menu or vice versa) are jerky in that they almost seem to stop and restart once or twice before the new screen is complete. I asked if he had any problems with recording but he said all was fine and that was the way it had always looked. I had him restart it but nothing changed.
On my Sony S1 the screen changes are smooth and seamless. Is this something common with series 2 models or the sign of impending doom for the hard drive?
TIA
