I hate moving. One reason is that somehow, things seem to change when go to reconnect my TiVo. It never works -- very frustrating. Now, the last place I had it hooked up I had cable, but no cable box. I used a switch box to add a DVD player to the mix -- seemed the easiest way.

Now, I have a Time-Warner Digital Cable converter box. I'm not trying to connect my standalone DVD player at the moment.

I've got a Pioneer TiVo DVR. That's all I'm trying to connect. My Magnavox television has both RCA and coax inputs (nothing else). I do have a wireless USB adapter -- it worked just fine at the old place.

I've printed all the connection instructions from the TiVo site, but none of them are working for me.

I miss my TiVo - at least, using my TiVo! Can anybody recommend some things I can do to troubleshoot the problem?

I assume that the Tivo has RCA video and audio outputs. These outputs from the TiVo should be connected to the TV RCA inputs. The TV would need to be tuned to Video 1 or whatever the RCA inputs are called on your TV. With this setup, you should be able to see the TiVo boot and see the menus omn the TiVo.

Once that is working, hook up the Cable box. The outputs of the cable box (either RCA video and audio or the S-video and RCA audio) can be connected to the inputs of the TiVo. You will need to repeat the guided setup in the TiVo to change the TiVo to get its inputs from the jacks that you have connected the cable box to.

Then you will need to connect the IR blasters to the TiVo and set them to the correct code for your cable box.

The TiVo can also feed its signal into the TV thru the RF output (connected to the TV's antenna input).

Just to simplify, initially.

Believe the TV would be set to channel 3 or 4.
