I upgraded my Tivo about a month ago because of a failing HD to a 300GB Seagate 7200.9 drive. It was working fine for about 4 weeks and now it seems that when I put Tivo on standby it locks up sometime after that (usually a few hours). So far it's locked up 3 times while on standby in a row. When it gets stuck it won't respond to the remote or Tivo Desktop and since it was on standby I can't see the last image on screen. Sometimes I know it was recording since there will be a partial recording after I restart it (pulling the plug) and the recording light is on as well if it was recording when it locked up. I thought maybe I could find out what it was doing when it locked up by not putting it on standby and now it hasn't locked up since. It's been running fine for 2 days. I'm going to put it on standby again tonight since I don't have any critical recordings and see if it locks up again...
Any thoughts on this? I know some people are having issues w/ the 7.3 rollout but I still have 7.2.2b. Could standby mode be causing the issue somehow? I thought standby only meant disable all TV video/audio output and let the Tivo know that you weren't watching and it could change channels, record suggestions, etc. at will.
