I have been using my Tivo on a daily basis for over 5 years.... It has developed a really annoying problem which I have a lived with for some time, but it would be nice to sort it out if possible.

When I press (any) button on the remote control, it seems to send the command twice... eg, if I am scrolling down a list and I press the down arrow, I get moved down two places....

The only way to improve matters (but can still be problematic) is to point the remote control well away from Tivo, or fire it off a back wall etc.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thankyou in advance,
Bilko, UK

What TiVo do you have? Are you using the original remote? There was a problem with DSR-6000 DirecTiVo remotes that would not work well on the navigation arrow button (the button with the four directional arrows.) At the time, there was some sort of replacement policy. It is probably not in force any longer as these units have not been produced for a long time.

Its the orignal UK Tivo (not sure what the model is! Made by Thomson) - the big silver slab!!

It is the original remote control.

It seems like it is sending the same IR command twice.... Therefore if you can bounce the signal around the room a bit, it diminishes what the Tivo box sees... It is weird.

Would it be worth it to figure that it is a problem with the remote, and try/buy another one?

Yes I will try to buy another remote... Just wondered if it was a known problem....
