How to burn dvd from Tivo to laptop?

Apologies if this has been covered, but I didn't seen an answer in the faq or in my searches:

I'd like to connect my laptop with dvd burner to my Tivo 240080, and burn a Tivo recording to dvd. What's the best way to go about this?

If storage space is an issue, I have an external USB 3.5" drive enclosure and can put a large drive in it.
