Many of the posts found in this forum are in the form of a "question", and I would like to make this one a thank you post.
I found this awesome forum a few days ago when my DSR708 died and I finally decided to look into hacking my unit.
After replacing my defective HDD with a larger one an running the kick-ass scripts found on this site, I not only got my unit fixed, but ended up with a better one.
I really wish to thank Rbautch and Gunnyman for the enhancement script and the amazing ease of implementation provided by the Zipper script. You have made the process of hacking our Tivos so easy, it is almost scary. I also thank the authors of all of the associated scripts and patches and all of you who took the time to answer any questions I might have had during this process.
I finally got my unit wirelessly (G) networked today by using a second WRT54G running the DD-WRT firmware in Client-Repeater mode. It absolutely rocks and the transfer speeds running TivoServer are phenomenal.
I couldn't be happier :D with my DSR708 and I look forward to hacking my next unit when I finally go HD.
Thanks again guys
Sincerely,
Robert
