I first of all want to say that I don't want to discourage the TiVo folks from making more awesome improvements to their box. In general, I've loved software updates. Further, I don't want them to slow down even if this particular launch was a little bit buggy. (It seems like they have set a three-times annual time pace and that they were a little behind schedule on this one, but launched it anyway.)

Having said that, I have become a Suggestions devotee and I want to be able to Thumbs Up my shows without having to go back to the Now Playing screen. So.....

Can anyone tell me when TiVo plans to fix this? I don't suppose that I can revert a version until it is, can I?

PS I love the Kidzone. My baby boy is only 10 months, but I'm glad he'll have it when he's ten years old!

No, you can't "revert" but, rest assured, TiVo has a track record of promptly issuing minor updates to fix bugs that are not showstoppers (e.g., seriously impair box useability). And, if there were a showstopping bug, TiVo would never have released the update. That's why there's beta testing.

TiVo inc's history has been to relase patch updates within a short time of a major release. The patch will most likely come before the roll out is completely done

meaning within a few weeks of now

Well, some have argued in other threads (most notably the 7.3 bug list thread) that the random reboots that have been impacting some users since 7.2.5 would be considered a showstopper bugs.

I think it's more correct to say that Tivo has a good track record of releasing a minor upgrade release that correct problems found in the major point release that generally fixed problems, but doesn't (usually) add new features.

Going from memory, they seem to be within 4-8 weeks of the wide release, so if they keep on that schedule, we may see another code level this summer.

To the OP - this release was clearly about KidZone. It's nice to hear that you like the feature and the software updates. Unfortunately, one of the 7.3 bugs impacted how you like to use Tivo. But I'm confident that Tivo will fix it and others in this release.

There ARE showstoppers as well as a myriad of other agravating bugs and TiVo DID release the update...

There ARE showstoppers as well as a myriad of other agravating bugs and TiVo DID release the update...Eh, I don't consider anything in your bug thread a showstopper. The closest are the couple of reboot issues - but they're sporadic and not in commonly used areas. And the reboot issues some people have reported on the S2DT since 7.2.5 seems very sporadic and not readily reproducible, so even if they're working on it you don't hold up development to chase a bug like that. You keep working on it but keep moving.
