Converting TivoToGo / TivoServer compatible vidoes

For vidoes that need to be converted to work properly with TivoToGo / TivoServer what does everyone use? I have had spotty luck with WinAVI and Videora. With WinAVI the video lags the audio and Videora crashes for certain types of vidoes. What are the other alternatives?

I run my tivo files thru direct show dump which changes them to regular mpeg. DSD is free, just google it and you will find the download for it somewhere.
Then you can use any software to convert to any format you like.
I bought cucusoft and it converts into just about everything including mp4 for my ipod.
It was about 29$.
Video redo is a great software for editing but it costs 50$, but is def worth it. I can edit out commercials of a 1 hour tv show in about 5 mins.
It's a piece of cake!!

kdupes, I think you got it the wrong way round. The OP is looking for ways to convert from avi (etc) to Tivo compatible mpg.

Fortunately all the xvid/avi's I have downloaded worked with Videora or Winavi (usually both). I try to make sure that the sources obtained are popular and therefore mostly non-problematic.
