Have not been able to play the .tivo on the Treo 700w with the media play. Also tryied to convert to MP4 format. The Media player on the 700w does not recognize the file type.

It strems fine when viewing the file via ORB.

Any ideas???

I've had good luck watching shows on my Windows Mobile devices by using Pocket DVD to turn MPEGs into WMV files. Takes a few more steps than Tivo Desktop, but it works great.

Skip MP4 altogether. Convert .tivo directly to .avi or .wmv. You can set the .wmv conversion up through Windows Media Player 10 to convert then sync.

I agree -- no point in going to MP4 if you don't have to.

I don't like the synching method ActiveSync 4.1 uses, so I sometimes use Windows Media Encoder (free on the MS site) to transfer from MPEG to WMV. It won't let you transfer a .tivo, though, so you'd have to convert to MPEG first.

You can use Windows Media Player 10 to convert and copy directly to a memory card if you want to bypass ActiveSync. That's what I've done for that very same reason. No MP4, no ActiveSync, and no WMEncoder. :)
