View Full Version : Media Player -- navigating large Tivo files

I've used two different media players as I watch transferred Tivo files on my laptop (Windows Media and Zoom Player). They'll play the file fine; but with large files (movies), I've noticed that as the playback progesses, it becomes almost impossible to jump forward or backward -- even just a few seconds -- without incredibly long delays that essentially amount to total nonresponsiveness. I assume it has something to do with memory getting progessively sucked up by the large file.
Does anybody know of any freeware :) Media Players that do a better job of jumping forward and back while playing a large Tivo file..?

I can't jump forward or backward in ANY files that I now have on my PC since the upgrade to 2.3 desktop, anyone know why?
EDIT
Okay I think I have this figured out now as I re-installed a codec back (K-Lite Codec Pack.) I had installed Cole Codec pack and that didn't work. Now though, all of my Tivo videos are squished in the middle, but my other vids appear to work fine. Anyone know how I can unsquish them?
