When I transfer video to my PC, the quality is great except for the very top of the recording which is always a staticy line of intereference. I wouldn't be surprised if it was present while I watched the video directly from the Tivo but it get's cut off by the TV.

Is there any way to fix this or to clip of the top couple lines from the recording?

Thanks.

That information is part of the broadcast. Broadcasters insert a lot of information into those top few lines of a tv picture, which is usually hidden by the mask of the Television.

Info such as subtitles, program title, etc.... is transmitted in that area.

At one time, there was experimentation using some of that space to deliver netnews/usenet. Was a pretty neat idea and it worked.

But, it isnt interfefence, or static, its just part of the picture you normally do not see.

I remember there was something called Teletext (?) on the TVs in Amsterdam when I was there 6 years ago. You could call up news stories and stuff. That must have been where they stored it.

Is there any easy way to remove that top info from the TTG recordings so they aren't fuzzy at the top?
