access denied, cannot retrieve data from DVR

I just got hooked up with TiVo yesterday. Everything is working. I can access folders on my PC on my TiVo box via wireless fine and play them (either pictures or music).

But, I cannot connect from my PC to my DVR though. It says that there is an error connecting to the DVR. Access is denied.

My TiVo desktop software knows the media access key and transfers and downloads are enabled on my TiVo account. When I try to access the media key on my DVR though, it says that the service is temporarily unavailable. Maybe it has something to do with that? Also, I gave my DVR a different name than the default. The TiVo desktop sw however still lists the default name under the access control tab.

Also, I can see my PC under Music, Photos, Products..., but I don't see it under Now Playing list.

any help appreciated.

I wasn't able to find this problem in the faq and appologize if this has been addressed somewhere already.

ok, never mind. I can answer my own problem. I do not know what helped, but it works. The only thing that changed was that I copied a dummy mpeg into the tivo folder. Then I was able to see my PC on the Now Playing list. Then I was also able to transfer files from tivo to the PC. I would call that a bug, cause if I cannot transfer files, the folder is empty.
