Please don't tell me I have to get it serviced... :o
Burned 2 DVDs yesterday morning... second one got a "copying failed" message.
Tried again, DVD would not load (door closes, but "loading dvd" shows on display).
Restarted, same thing. Complete power down/unplug/rest 30 mins... same thing.
Happens on pre recoded and blank media.
Any suggestions? If this is not something I can service myself, any suggestions on where to send it/possible cost to repair?
Pioneer DVR810h
Many thanks,
Eva

If you haven't recently changed to a new brand of DVDs, it sounds like your burner/drive is getting goofy.
Does the store you bought it at offer repair service?
(By the way...are you using the correct type of DVD? "-" vs. "+"?)

What happens when you try to play a pre-recorded disc, not a burned disc? Does it play? Sometimes the player will get "confused" and you have to "distract" it by giving it a different kind of disc to play. Sounds silly, but it does work, sometimes. ;)

Good thought, but... Same spindle that the rest came from... same brand/type I've always used... Bought the unit online 2+years ago with no svc contract, so I can send it anywhere if it needs repair.

Yep, yep... That's why I tried using a store-bought (pre-recorded) DVD... won't load up to play after door is closed (shows "load" on display and "loading DVD" on screen)
ain't looking good... :(

Maybe a shot of compressed "air" will remove a spec of dust or something on the laser.

Ok, tried the air... still no dice.
Anyone know of a good place to get service? I guess as far as timing goes this is the best time for it to be out of commision, since all the good shows are on summer break...
