I get this error message all the time. If I have one tuner on HD and another on a non HD I will get the error. If I put both tuners simultaneously on HD it will go away. If I put both tuners on non HD channels there are no errors.

If I reboot it will be ok for a while. But after time this issue starts again and it is a problem when the tuner is supposed to be recording. It will sometimes record nothing.

What's up?

Thanks, Brian

Can you describe your set-up?

Type of dish (i.e. 3 lnb or 5 lnb)?
# of lines running out from it?
spitter? If so, how many lines running to it?

I see this if I tune to channel 94 or 95 when there is nothing on the channel. It gives the "Searching" message instead of "Channel not available" one. Then switch to the other tuner and that message remains.

I don't know if this is relevant to your situation, but the exact same thing was happening for me. My problem turned out to be that during the install of my 3LNB dish, the installer only ran two cables instead of the required four.

I was then using an external 2-4 multiswitch to get cables to my DVRs. This was a bad juju situation.

My fix was to get the four cables run from the satellite, using the integrated multiswitch in the LNB, lose the external 2-4 multiswitch, and hook up the cables directly.

Works fine now. Hope this helps.

Definately sounds like a LNB issue. Try putting both of your channels on something
other than what would be on SAT C.

Just put 206 on one and 207 on the other. What happens then?

Both my neighbor and I are having the same exact issue. They have a separate multi-switch and I am only using the satellite. When I spoke to DirecTV to get my free HR10-250, I asked about it and the rep I spoke to had not heard of it. I will ask the installer when they come to install the new receiver.

This happens to me, too. Has something to do with the fact that d* sometimes "deactivates" those channels when "rebalancing" the sat signals over the different transponders when nothing is scheduled to be shown on 94/95 (sorry I don't have all the technical jargon down). Soon as I change the tuner on 94/95 to a channel that has video, the error message goes away.

+1

I too get the message and 95 / 96 and then it's remedied as soon as I change the channel off those 2 channels.

I had this problem because of a bad multiswitch. When I replaced it, the problem went away.

I am still having this problem. I see that some have said changing the channel on each tuner has solved the problem. How is this accomplished? When I am on two sat channels, I am only able to change the channel on the 'good' tuner. This is really causing a problem with recording.

I am going to swap the LNB out and see if that helps, but if anyone knows how to swap channels on the tuners, it would be a big help.

Thanks
