I searched all the forums before posting, but I can't find an answer to my problem. I just recently started using Tivo To Go, and I've run into problem after problem. I've solved most of my issues, except for this one, when tranferring large files (like movies) my wireless connections seem to get lost, and I have to reset my router. What's interesting is that if I transfer between my two Tivo's, everything works fine. However, when I tranfer to PC, after about 30 minutes the wirelss connections go down. When I reset the router everything picks up where it left off for another 30 mins.

I'm using a Linksys a BEFW11S4 router with a Linksys USB adapter on one Tivo and a Netgear one on the other. The problem occurs on both adapters, so that's probably not the root cause.

All machines are on static IP's. Otherwise the router is on all of the default settings.

Any ideas?

This is very frustrating, this shouldn't be so hard.

Thanks in advance for your help.

I have the same router (wireless B right?) and experience the same problems but only when I transfer a large number of shows at once. If I transfer 6 or 7 shows it's fine but if I try to transfer 10 or more at a time it drops the wireless connection.

You may not have to reset the router. Just disable and then re-enable the wireless connection through the router's setup menus.

I think this is a router problem because I had a linksys wireless adapter and recently switched to TiVo's own wireless adapter and still experience the same problem. If the WRT54G ever comes down in price I think I'm going to jump on that model.

I'm starting to think that it is in fact a router problem, as everything else seems to be working properly. I may go and get a WRT54G this weekend, and see if that makes a difference. It's on sale at Best Buy right now.

Did a little more research on this, word is that the WRT54G v5 may have some issues in tranferring large files. Older version had more memory in the router. Supposedly, the WRT54GL is the model you want.
