I currently have this annoying thing happen. When I am watching Tivo. I am unsure if it is my Superscan tv or tivo doing it.

I turn mute on with my superscan remote. Because the tivo can't seem to mute it at this time non supported tv. Go figure. :| But when I have my tv on mute it keeps un-muting after a while. When it is in active mute mode. Also at times it is at the main tivo screen with mute turned on at times.

Is this normal because it is dang annoying to me. When I am concetrating on my computer. Which is not far from the tv and the tivo is right next to it. At times I am playing computer games and bang loud sound's. At other times I just want to mute it. But I don't want to actually turn off the tv either.

Is this a tivo problem? Or does anybody think it may be my tv suppose? Also is there any workaround that I can try or use or something. At times it just un-mutes and blast's my concentration out the window.

Thank's for helping me. :)

If you're muting the TV with the TV remote, TiVo won't have anything to do with it.

You could just try turning the TV off.

Does your TV have an owners manual?

Yes I could turn off the tv. But I was trying to fix the problem. And not turn off the tv so I can record something muted. And be on my computer when it is doing that. And when it has a selection of things recorded. Then when I feel like it I could watch them without having to watch the commericals.

And yes I have a tv owner's manual.

Neither of those things that were talked about helps my problem in any way.

And by the way I was trying to find a solution between my tv and tivo. With the constantly un-muting by itself.

Are you using the TiVo IR blasters ?? if yes that may be the problem otherwise TiVo could not have any control over your TV unless a TiVo command from its remote is the same as a un-mute command on your TV.

Hey lessd Thank you. :) That's some very intresting stuff. I will try to look into it.

Hey lessd what is a "TiVo IR blaster" by the way?

I will try to fiddle with my combo. And try to examine my combo more accurately. To check if I find any other different experiece's.

Yeah for sure that could be a odd thing. If some command was the same and was interferring with other command's. Hums.

Wouldn't it be better to look for the problem wherever it may be rather than limiting it to just your Tivo?

In the mean time, you could just turn the volume down all the way - unless of course it's way too much of a hassle to hold a button down for a couple of seconds.

If you don't know what a TiVo blaster is you are not using them (they are used to control a cable box or satellite box and come with all new TiVos)

Like I said, if the TV is unmuting itself, and the TIVO REMOTE DOESN'T EVEN CONTROL YOUR TV, then your TiVo has absolutely nothing to do with your problem.

No need to get testy.
