I have tivo dvr and direct TV satellite....wich means that i am usingthose little boot things wich i just learned are rl blasters ....or something like that... anyway the problem is i can't record future programming when I'm not ther..,it just keeps recording another channel or nothing at all....I've been told ther is something i can do... can someone help me...yes i have a serial input in the back of my sat box....thank you for your help

There are several different kinds of serial ports on satellite receivers. You need to pick up a compatible cable which will plug into the back of the TiVo's serial port and the receiver's serial port. You will then be able to ditch the IR blaster cable and your problem should be solved. First check the TiVo web-site for the correct part.
