I have an HR10-250 purchased from D* last Aug. It freezes with the display going to all fragmented pixels that then goes to stuttering video and audio and sometimes to silent gray screen. I unplug and replug and it always comes back but runs somewhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours before the next crash; it has re-booted on its own a few times.
I have it side by side with another HR10 that runs off a different dish but both are connected to my Toshiba 57 in. HD RPTV. So I switched it from HDMI/DVI connection to component and also switched the tuner cables and power cords, also removed and reinserted the Acc card; all with no improvement. I am concerned that when I call D* they will have me reboot and then say all is fixed. or like when I got a D tivo on the DVR4ME that would not activate they had a Tech come out just to confirm and then he called it in and they sent a replacement. Of course if they send a tech I won't be able to demonstrate the failure because it is intermittent.
Any advice on cause and how to proceed would be appreciated
