Hi all,

I'm a long time tivo fan and shareholder (although that's been less fun to be totally honest). I'm a huge NFL fan but have yet to live in an apartment with satellite so couldn't do directTV, until now. My new apartment is wired for satellite (only offers directTV through it) already so I'm looking into getting a new Tivo to 1. work with directTV and 2. have HD capabilities. It looks like the HR10-250 is the only model directTV offers which has HD Tivo, correct?

Also, I installed a second hard drive into this tivo and was wondering if/how I could move it to the new one - is that doable?

Thanks much in advance,

Cheers,
Brent

1. Yes, the HR10-250 is the only HiDef DirecTV/Tivo DVR.

2. Yes, you can add a second hard drive to your HR10-250. Check out the resources in the Tivo Upgrade Center Forum here.

You said the apartment is wired for DirecTV. Is this a common dish for all apartments? To get HD from DirecTV you need it to access all three satellites. ie: Triple LNB dish.

To get HD from DirecTV you need it to access all three satellites. ie: Triple LNB dish.

Also, you need two cable runs to the Triple LNB dish in order to be able to record two shows at once. With only one satellite connection, the HR10-250 will only record one show at a time for both satellite and OTA connections.
