I'm a veteran TV user who just moved and had to re-setup my system. My TiVo is correctly hooked up my Scientific Atlanta 3100 cable box. But I can't get Live TV. My video hookup setting is correct -- I am using the red, white, yellow cables -- which Ichecked with the thumbs up/thumbs down/pause/play routine given to me by customer support. Earlier, I did get the green screen of death, so maybe this is a hard drive issue. One more thing -- when I do hit channel "0" I do get video -- but that is the only channel. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

My TiVos are set to work with cable, but no box.
I just punched in "00" and waited. (Nothing is hooked into my A/V inputs.)
First I got a black screen, then a blue screen with "cannot display live TV".
Sounds like your TiVo isn't aware it's working with a cable box.
Seems to me, if it knew it was working with a cable box, it wouldn't have changed channels to "0" (video) using its own tuner.
It would have told the cable box to change channels, or it would have done NOTHING since cable boxes don't usually have a "0" channel.
Have you tried setting up a manual recording, aiming for the "0"/"video" setting as your channel?
Set the box to whatever channel you want, and try to record. Even for five minutes.
If you end up with a recording, then something's going on. (And for now, if your box has a timer feature, you could set the TiVo to record "0" at given times, and set the box to select the appropriate channel at those times, and you'll at least get recordings, just no guide info.)
The fact you got the green screen but it's now working sounds like something defaulted. Sometimes TiVos will "fix" themselves if something goes wrong with the drive.
I say go thru guided setup again, and tell it you now have a cable box and that your connection to the box is by A/V.
Give it all the other info it needs, and stand back.
I'm guessing you may get things running.
Please let us know what happens.

You'll only get that if you have it set up as OTA antenna or cable w/o box. Repeat guided setup and tell it that you have cable with a box and that you are using the composite input.
