Okay, upstairs is the Hughes SD-DVR40. Suddenly, it hangs up for long periods of time, and will not respond to the remote. You can hit buttons, and the commands will happen ... eventually. At first, it did it only in long pre-recorded programs, but now it's even started doing it on live TV.
Twice, I've had to unplug and recycle the sucker.... Is this baby dying? It's not that old! Then again, I think I'M not that old, and then I look in the mirror....
PS...my answer to the question "Why more than one Tivo"? When you get used to TV at your command, it's hard to go back to being ruled by the TV.
