Philips Series 1, OS 3, broken modem, used just as a recorder.

I know how to start bash over serial in rc.sysinit

However, how can I modify this file?

I boot into mfstool CD in Linux but was unable to mount the tivo partition.

I am using /dev/hda.

mount /dev/hda# /mnt/tivo will fail as mount asks me to provide file system type. I pass -t ext2 and mount complained bad fs.

Could someone explain how to mount WHICH partition for write?

Thanks!

You need a byteswap capable CD, or enable byteswap in the boot options. Yuo modify partitions 4 and 7.

Take a trip to TiVo Underground or the Upgrade center. Do not pass Go etc.

You'll get far more response there.

Could you give the command line to use? I have both the jenkin's CD and msftool CD

Thanks!
