I used MFStools and only got 174 hours from a 500gb Hitachi drive on my new Dual tuner unit. I downloaded the latest InstantCake for that model and got the same results. Does anyone have any ideas about what might be wrong and how to fix it.

Which ISO did you use? and which options?I used the Weeknees upgrade instructions and downloaded msftools from their site, with these parameters.
mfsbackup -f 9999 -so - /dev/hdb | mfsrestore -s 127 -r 4 -xzpi - /dev/hdd I also tried 250 instead of 127 and then used TPIP.

Don't see any problem with your command, you sure it is not a 160G drive?
See what Linux thinks the size of the drive is I use the Linux command cat /proc/partitions or dmesg | grep ide
Check with mfsinfo /dev/hdd
what size is the drive at BEST quality?
You are using the WeaKnees LBA48 CD not the non LBA48 floppy
