Hey guys,

I just installed a Zinwell wb68 multiswitch in preparation for a 5lnb dish install coming in a couple of hours. I was replacing a 5x8 switch that incorporated the OTA input into it which was very convenient.

Can the Zinwell be used this way? In addition to the normal 4 inputs on the multiswitch it has two "flexports". I hoped using one of these would work, but no joy.

The satellite is coming through great, but no OTA. Help?

nevermind, I see now that the two fllexports are needed for the satellite.

Can I take one output from the multiswitch, converge it with the OTA signal into one line, the use a diplexer on the other end? I really want to avoid running an additional ine into the bedroom for OTA

And now I find that you cannot combine the sat and antenna lines with the 5lnb because one of the new satelittes uses the same freq as ota. I guess there is no choice but to run another line. Any feedback is welcome!

If you are not going to be using an MPEG-4 receiver then you can diplex OTA as you have described. However, when MPEG-4 equipment is hooked-up you will then need a separate OTA coax. Probably better to bite the bullet and install the OTA coax now.

Thanks guys. Looks like what I will have to do is cascade my old 5x8 switch from the new 6x8 switch and feed the 6x8 outputs to the Mpeg4 lines and the 5x8 outputs to the Mpeg 2 lines.
