I have my TiVo connected to a home network. That has worked fine for the past 1 1/2 years. The television that I was using with my TiVo got fried by an electrical storm. My son thought that he was doing me a favor when he set up my TiVo so that I can schedule and download to my PC through TiVo Desktop. I can now transfer selected recordings from TiVo to my PC, play and watch them on my PC monitor, and delete them from PC disk storage.
Here is the problem: when TiVo was connected to a television, I often used the "don't delete until I say so" option. There are still more than a few of those taking up TiVo disk space. Since there is no longer a television involved in the setup at all, I can find no way to either: 1) delete those recordings from my TiVo or 2) just do a total reset (and if I did, would the guided setup feed through my PC monitor so I would know what to do?) This seemed like a good idea when he thought of it, and still seems very workable if I could just clear the TiVo disk now.
Bottom line question: is it possible to use TiVo through a PC and monitor without having a television involved in the setup at all?
