I'm getting a Pioneer 506XDE next week which includes a Media Box. I'm also getting SkyHD. Is it possible to use the Freeview Tuner in the MediaBox as the source TV for TiVo? I can't bear to part with my TiVo and would like to find some use for it once the SkyHD box arrives.

I'm not prepared to pay Sky £10 per month for a 2nd Sky DigiBox simply to record to TiVo though.

Thanks,

Mark.

Why not? If the Media box outputs a signal (of Freeview) then TiVo can accept it and use it - surely.

I'm guessing that it is not a stand-alone tuner, it is the companion box to the screen as a such its output is custom to the screen, normal rules apply as with screens with built in freeview - they don't work.

I have the 505XDE, pretty much the same...

It doe have the RF loopthrough on the media box...

I would say no as the TV would have to be on the freeview OP for this to work...

To be honest, you have get a freeview box for £19.99, best to go down this route..

Nice TV BTW... I have not seen anything much better in flat panels to meet the 505/506 XDE.

I consider my 505 to have a much better picture than CRT's which most people say are still the best way...

I have never seen any make of LCD with a better image than any CRT though.
